Mega Gala Day

The 2023 Northern Inland Basketball League (NIBL) has finally arrived!  It's now time to register for the Mega Gala Day and get yourself into the league!

NIBL is aimed at junior basketballers throughout the Northern Inland Region of NSW, who want to learn some new skills, be active and have fun making new friends. It's available for both boys and girls, aged 8 - 17 years.  Everyone who signs up for NIBL 2023 will receive a playing uniform at the Mega Gala Day, which they will then wear to all of the rounds!

What it's all about:
NIBL kicks off with the Mega Gala Day in Tamworth on 10th September.  Players from all over the region will come together to participate in a coaching clinic then be placed into teams to play on the day.  A free sausage sizzle lunch will be provided.  From there, the League is split into two (northern & southern).  These leagues will play throughout September & October, then meet up again in Tamworth in November for finals day.  Dates are below.  It is anticipated that each day will run from 9am until 3pm, however this will depend on participation numbers.  

Southern League:  

Mega Gala Day - 10 September in Tamworth
Round 1 - 17 September in Gunnedah
Round 2 - 29 October in Gunnedah
Finals - 12 November in Tamworth

Northern League:
Mega Gala Day - 10 September in Tamworth
Round 1 - 17 September in Glen Innes
Round 2 - 29 October in Armidale
Finals - 12 November in Tamworth

GIRLS DIVISIONS:
GIRLS U10s: Born 2014 & 2015  (all girls welcome)
GIRLS U12s:  Born 2012 & 2013  (all girls welcome)
GIRLS U14s: Born 2010 & 2011  (all girls welcome)
GIRLS U16s: Born 2008 & 2009  (all girls welcome)
GIRLS U18s: Born 2006 & 2007 (all girls welcome)

BOYS DIVISIONS:
BOYS U10s: Born 2014 & 2015  (all boys welcome)
BOYS U12s:  Born 2012 & 2013 (all boys welcome)
BOYS U14s: Born 2010 & 2011 (no div 1 rep players)
BOYS U16s: Born 2008 & 2009  (no div 1 rep players)
BOYS U18s: Born 2006 & 2007 (no div 1 rep players)

Note that divisions are subject to change depending on the number of players registrations received.

The success of NIBL depends on involvement of players and the community.  Please tell all your friends and encourage them to join!  We also need involvement of parents and the community.  Please get involved to help make NIBL 2023 a great success.

GET INVOLVED:
NIBL also offers the opportunity to learn and gain accreditations in refereeing, coaching and scoring - for FREE!  We really want to grow the game of basketball in the region, and part of that is developing the referees, coaches and scorers.  These introductory sessions are for everyone including players, parents, siblings or community members.   We need you and would love to see you on the court for NIBL this year!  Please get involved to help make NIBL 2023 a great success.
